Our History
Our history dates back to 1984, when Silvia Meyer Battaglia and H.-Ueli Gubser took the initiative to realize a shared vision. Their original goal was to restore the name “Grand Hotel” to what it once represented during the Belle Époque: a hallmark of outstanding quality, stylish hospitality, and unmistakable experiences. They sought to preserve the cultural and architectural heritage of these traditional establishments while simultaneously strengthening their significance in the modern hotel industry.
Today, we see ourselves primarily as brand ambassadors for our member hotels. We are committed with conviction to keeping the historical heritage of these special houses visible and to actively shaping their future. In doing so, we support our members in opening up new guest markets and positioning their individual charisma internationally.
The focus of our actions is on trust, personal and long-term cooperation, and passionate commitment. These values shape our daily work and form the basis for a strong community of hotels that combine tradition and innovation in a unique way.
